The Commercial EPC has been required for most commercial properties for sale or let since 2008. The EPC is valid for ten years, or until a newer EPC is produced, if sooner. A Commercial EPC can only be offered by an approved Commercial Energy Assessor. Information on the building's fabric, heating, cooling, ventilation, geometry, lighting and hot water systems is collected and this helps determine the buildings energy efficiency rating. In addition to the EPC there is a Recommendation Report offering measures to improve the energy rating, together with estimated payback times |
